VOTING INFORMATION: Key Dates for November 3, 2026 Gubernatorial Elections
For Vote by Mail

Monday, October 26: Last day to apply for a mail-in ballot if not already on the Permanent Vote-by-Mail list

Tuesday November 3: Last day to use Drop Boxes or Post Office (must be postmarked) for returning ballots. We recommend you mail your ballot by October 27.
For Voter Registration only

Tuesday, October 6 Last day for voter registration with Deputy Voter Registrars

Sunday, October 18: Last day to register online at the Illinois State Board of Elections web site (must have either an Illinois Driver's License or State ID)

Monday, October 5: Early voting and registration begins at Voting Centers (69 W. Washington pedway and Courthouses)

Monday, October 19 thru Monday, November 2: Early voting and registration expands for suburban voters at additional suburban sites
